    Policy/User Agreement

     

    Mobile hotspots are available for adults with a valid Ocean State Libraries card in good standing (no fees over $10) and a valid photo ID.

    Hotspots may be checked out for 3 weeks and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No renewals. One use per household per 60 days. There is a $5 per day late fee. Hotspots must be returned inside Lincoln Public Library. They cannot be returned in the book drop. (If they are found inside the book drop, the user will be charged a $25 fine.) Hotspots may be checked out up to 1 half hour before library closing. Hotspots need to be returned 1 half hour prior to closing in order to complete check-in.

    All components of the Hotspot must be present upon return for the library to consider the item checked in. Returned Hotspots will not be immediately available due to the need for maintenance.

    The following fines and fees apply:

    Lost, damaged, stolen hotspot. If stolen, borrower must submit a police report to the library.

    Fee determined by current cost of replacement from T-Mobile*

    Lost or damaged power cord or charger block.

    $15 replacement cost

    Battery missing or damaged

    $20 replacement cost

    If hotspot is not returned on time, service to the hotspot will be suspended.

    FAQs:

    • Service for the hotspots is available in the US anywhere within the T-Mobile coverage area.
    • The service is provided by the Lincoln Public Library. The device has service through
      T-Mobile.

    *2024 provider cost is $265.
