“Express Yourself @ Your library” is this year’s theme of the Teen Summer Reading Program at the Lincoln Public Library. SRP 2009 will be held from Monday, July 6 through Friday, August 7. Earn $$$-for-fines coupons by simply reading. Activities include several painting programs, beading, origami, a movie, Book Buddies, Pen Pals, a filmmaking presentation, and a 3-day program on Windows Movie Maker. More details to follow. All registrations at Reference or call 333-2422 x.17 for more info. Book Buddies The Summer session of Book Buddies at the Lincoln Public Library will begin on Tuesday, July 7 @ 11am-12pm. The program will run on five (5) consecutive Tuesdays through August 4. All programs meet in the Program Room off the lobby, unless otherwise indicated. Each week Teen Readers aged 11-18 will meet with L’il Book Buddies aged 3-8 years. One-on-one reading is ideal, but no more than 2 L’il BBs will be assigned to a Teen Reader. The first 30 minutes are dedicated to reading followed by coloring and floor puzzles, if so desired. This is a Young Adult/Teen program supervised by the YA/Teen Librarian. As such, this is a great opportunity to fulfill those community service hours or simply to give back to your neighborhood. Both groups should register at Reference or call 333-2422 x.17.
