Teen Summer Reading Registration
We will be offering a reading program aimed at teens and young adults at the Lincoln Public Library this summer. The theme is Escape the Ordinary. Registration starts today, June 29 and will be ongoing throughout the summer. Forms and brochures are avaiable at the Reference Desk. Questions? SRP 2015 Rules
This year's Teen Summer Reading Program runs from July 7 through August 14.
- Register @ Reference or online (see below).
- Pick up Bingo card & book review entries.
- Complete all nine Bingo squares by August 14 to
enter Grand Prize drawing on August 19.
- Enter book review weekly drawings for prizes.
- Complete Heroes Book Bingo for prizes.
- Reading lists available @ Reference.
* Up to 400 pages = 1 unit/book review ; over 400 = 2 units. e.g., Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows has 759 p. - a 2-unit title.
E-magazines & E-books OK too!
On Wednesday, July 8 at 2:00 PM students in grades 6+ are invited to decorate garden pots in a drip-paint style at the Lincoln Public Library. First we’ll paint them in one solid color. Then we will prop them upside down over paper plates and drip more paint down the sides. lease register at Reference; space is limited to 10 people.
We are offering 2 sessions of Book Buddies at the Lincoln Public Library this summer. Scheduled days are Thursdays, July 9 and 23 from 11:00 AM til noon. Teen Readers aged 11-17 meet with L’il Book Buddies aged 3-8 for one-on-one reading, coloring and floor puzzles. No more than 2 L’il BBs per Teen Reader. This is a Teen program supervised by the Teen Librarian. Both groups should register at Reference or call 333-2422 x17.
Sonic Pi Synthesizer
RICM (RI Computer Museum) presents Sonic Pi Synthesizer on Wednesday, July 22 @ 2:00 PM at the Lincoln Public Library. Students will "build a synthesizer and rock out!" Make digital music with Sonic Pi & Raspberry Pi, a tiny credit-card-sized single-board computer. Limited to 16 students ages 12 & up.
