The Lincoln Public Library will loan DVS videos for the visually impaired, with free delivery. A Telecaption Closed Caption Decoder is also available for loan. Below is a list of our current titles. Please call the library at 333-2422 ext.10 for assistance.

Now your library never closes! With our new digital library patrons can browse, checkout, and download digital Audiobooks and eBooks anytime of day from anywhere in the world. The new online service is available by visiting http://riezone.lib.overdrive.com.

With over 1,000 exceptional titles to choose from, our online collection is sure to have something that fits your tastes.  From popular novels by Nora Roberts, Catherine Coulter, Dean Koontz, and Amy Tan; to the classic works of Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, Franz Kafka, even Homer — our Audiobook and eBook collection spans nearly every genre. The collection also includes children’s, educational titles, and a wide variety of non-fiction including business, history, and self-help.

Getting started is easy. Just visit our web site http://riezone.lib.overdrive.com. Install the free software from our website, then browse our collection and select the titles you want. When you’re ready, check out your materials by entering your Lincoln Public Library card and download the digital books to your home computer. Once downloaded, you can transfer them to your portable device, or burn the audio books directly to CD. When the lending period is up your digital books are automatically returned — so there are never any late fees! Digital books are compatible with most home computers.  eBooks (digital text based versions of a book) can be read on PCs, MACs, PDAs, and Smartphones. Download Audiobooks  (digital versions of traditional audio books on tape or CD) can be enjoyed on your PC or on hundreds of portable WMA/MP3 players. You can burn Audiobooks to CD and listen to them in the car or on any standard CD player.

New Database

The Lincoln Public Library has recently started subscribing to MagillOnLiterature Plus. This online database includes all the literary works, reviewed critical analyses and brief plot summaries that are included in MagillOnLiterature, as well as all the biographies and author essays included in MagillOnAuthors. This is a great tool to use for literary criticism. You can access MagillOnLiterature from home and from within the library.

Growing DVD Collection

The Lincoln Public Library has recently created a circulating Children's DVD collection. Be sure to check out our new titles the next time you come in.

Computer Classes

All computer classes are now being held with the wireless laptops. If you are interested in attending any of the hands-on classes, you can visit the circulation desk to register or call 333-2422 ext.19. Schedules are available at the circulation desk as well as on the Programs page.

 

The library is looking for people in the community who would be able to run classes in the following areas; origami, cake decorating, and photography. Please call Reference at 333-2422 ext.17 if you are interested.
